Even the generally polite ones frequently broke the rules with dirty jokes and abusive language, all of which was against the rules and evidently took up a lot of the monks' time the next day in deleting posts or whole threads. I know there was a lot of friendly chat on CB, but there was also a lot of unpleasantness and my own feeling was that CB regulars did little or nothing to deter it.
I mean, did they even patronise the advertisers who keep the site going?? :-) (Because someone has to pay for AB.)
Seriously - do people think they did enough to keep the site clean and friendly and within the rules? Or did they just sort of hope AB Ed would sort it all out next day? If the latter, I can't blame AB Ed for deciding she's had enough of it.
