Do you, by chance, have the number of letters in each answer?

I think 15 is something Arms but i cannot get a sensible word from the remaining letters:-(

That was one of the words i came up with, ael, but it made no sense as i've never come across such a watering hole.

My army mate's parents used to own a place called The Chequers. It was in Gazely, just outside Newmarket racecourse.
