Food Hygiene Ratings - Fiddled?

In my locality somebody is cooking food at their own home for delivery by Deliveroo.  They show a food hygiene rating of 4 both on their website and via Deliveroo.  When I search the FSA for the name of the business and the town, I get 'no results found'.

Is it possible to fiddle these ratings?  I can understand how somebody could copy and paste for their own website but does Deliveroo do their own checks?  I've posted this in business as it is related to a business

A lot of that goes on around here in certain communities.  They advertise meals that they have cooked at home and I very much doubt anyone has been and checked that they conform to hygiene standards.  I doubt Deliveroo check.  I see Deliveroo moped riders and cyclists around with the padded food bag on their backs and wonder how often that is cleaned out (leaks etc) as well.

I think it is possible if you know how, my friend had his 5 star striker pinched off the door, presumably for someone to use elsewhere.

I have nevered ordered hot food to be delivered, the thought of it turns my stomach.

I'll report this business and alert the website they are advertising on

Dunno about fiddling. May be possible to downright lie, until caught out, I suppose.

I no hab Eengleesh.

Pizzas etc. get their own container barry. No worse than eating at the establishment, unless you don't trust the delivery person that is.

GA (again)

I do have a question, why are you going to such lengths to report them?

If you don't order takeaway food, how does this directly affect you?

douglas, they are selling classic British dishes.

OG, it's the thought of me meal being transported that puts me off.  I like my hot goodto go straight on to my plate.  I've seen photos of full English breakfasts delivered and it turns my stomach

DDIL, I am a mod on the website so monitor the business adverts.

If they are fiddling their food ratings it is likely they are not registered with the council nor the taxman. That bothers me not just because they may make their customers ill but also because they are taking customers from legitimate businesses.

I've had plenty of food delivered, even kebabs.

Occasional deli-belly, perhpas 6 times in 30 years, and who knows that might have just been the beer or too much cilli sauce.

Having said that I cant imagine ever ordering a Briotish breakfast, surely it would arrive all congealed with the egg everywhere?

I'm pleased to see that we are not oddities re hot food being delivered. Just doesn't appeal.

DDIL if you'd ever had food poisoning you wouldn't even question the motive. And I don't just mean a little gut ache.

Good afternoon,

Netherfield thank you, I have had food poisoning, it just appears that Barry is being a wee bit Karen over his moderation of another page.

It's possible that the trading name of the business (e.g. 'Billy's Breakfasts') might not match the name of the proprietor to whom the Food Hygiene Rating has ben awarded.  (e.g. 'William Bloggs').

Use the search facility here but leave the name of the business blank.  (For example, if I simply fill in the name of the small town that I live in within the 'Part of address' field, I get 33 results.  If I substitute the first part of the postcode instead, I then get 119 hits).

DDIL, it is a paid position and I am responsible for ensuring businesses are legit.  I'll ignore your insult.

Thanks, buen

I've never had food delivered - not even from a supermarket.  I like to see what I'm getting.

There's an app for that Chris.

(I know, I have it.)

I believe your our local council are responsible for food hygiene ratings.
