Every year I see this non-event and I think it's just an indicator of how insane some people are. Those that enter and those that judge. Either that or it's just one big ssip take.

Not the most vocally agile of artists, you'd think they would prepare answers to the usual fawning questions from the assembled press.

Nothing more or less than fly tipping.

That still going on ? Best not give it further publicity then.

I should imagine Turner would turn in his grave. Every year this prize is more proof of what utter fools those are who claim to appreciate this kind of modern art. It's laughabbe.

You and I are obviously missing something, Prudie.  I won't bother to find out what it is though.

I think it's yet another example of clique-metropolisation (just made that up, but it seems to work).  In other words, it's come out of the hands of the 'normal' and has to be rather outre to have a chance.

It would be lovely to have, say, an oil painting of a landscape - maybe with a melting tree in the outline of a 'nodding donkey'?  Just an idea from someone, you know, something we could relate to.

To put into perspective - I did attend Manchester Art College for a while and I taught Art alongside English and History. Long story, multi-qualified.

Did you know that Tracey Emin (who can't draw for toffee - or hasn't shown any evidence of it i.m.o.) is (or was) a professor of drawing!!!!!!

They'll be cutting cows in half next....
