Has the editor ever replied when people ask why their questions and threads were banned? I think it would be more professional if he/she could back up their actions with reasons. Anyone else agree?

If you have a thread banned and don't know why, then I would try contacting the editor through the contact us option at the foot of the page. I am sure she will then answer. She doesn't generally get into personal questions on the open site.

from the FAQs (full list clickable at the bottom of the page):

16. Why was my post removed? There didn't appear to be anything offensive in it.
Most posts are not removed because they were offensive, however, if a post includes anything that goes against the Site Rules, it will be removed. You may have unintentionally duplicated a post or responded to a post that was removed, so your post was removed also for continuity reasons. Please note, due to the high volume of posts, the AnswerBank Editor cannot reply to individual queries regarding this issue.

Oh thanks, jno.

sorry i don't agree either - think it would waste loads of editorial time and look unprofessional if the ed started having to expalin every action they took on an open question and answer site - if you really feel strongly after reading the faq when email the team... but i would say just relax a bit and let it happen the ed is only ever removing things for specific needs rather than on a whime

Why don't you ask St Jno? She is Ed in disguise!

Homer...!!! Jno's only trying to be Helpfull...(:-)

Look at jnos' post. Look at the last sentence:

"Please note, due to the high volume of posts, the AnswerBank Editor cannot reply to individual queries regarding this issue."

That is the Editor talking. Ha! Rumbled you at last Ed, aka jno!

actually Homer anyone can click on the FAQs - they're at the bottom of this and every page - this is a frightfully democratic website. It is indeed AB Ed speaking, but you'll find I just cut and pasted.

AB Ed doesn't work weekends.

You'll say anything to put us off, Ed.

If jno isn't Ed, why does she persist in reminding everyone about Site Rules? I notice that the questions about Site Rules and banned threads are always addressed to, or intended for, Ed. But jno's always there, poking her nose in, when the reply is supposed to come from Ed.

What's the game jno? Are you Eds' mouthpiece? Is Ed a ventriloquist and you're the dummy?

"Hello Ace. You're threads geen ganned gecause it doesn't neet the Site Rules"

Yours Ed (wia jno)

Homer here are a picture of me and one of the editor so you'll see we're substantially different!

She! That explains everything.

Well, I'm more convinced than ever now!

But you haven't answered the question? Why do you always answer questions that are addressed to Ed?

Why do you always poke your nose in?

St. Jno. AKA Ed. And it's no good saying Ed doesn't work at week-ends.

Where do you fit in if you're not Ed?

Are you the self-appointed, temporary, week-end Ed?

Can someone pass me a donut please?

Homer - try this.
Well I think that jno is male and Ed is female, unless of course......... no don't go there!!!!!!
oh dear me i am getting all confused here on who is who, think i will put my feet up and have a glass of sherry
