i was driving down my way home and i heard a bang like something i hit under the car i was doing 40 just moved into fourth gear. The lights on the panel came on and i coasted into a lay-by. dum founded i tried to start the engine and it wudnt couple of go's wudnt have it checked under the car nothing. Called out the Rac they told me it was the timing belt after he checked over the motor. My friends tell me that there will be some damage possible valves and rods quoted 500 to fix or 150 for the timing belt if there was no damage. Wud it better to have it machined and skimmed and pay or pay for a new cylinder head block??? i am screwing about this the worst thing on a motor to go

get it stripped down first and see wat damage has been done!! wat year is the car? the garage will be able to tell u wat u r options are but wen the head is off its recommended to have the head skimmed and pressure tested to make sure the head itself it also ok around 80 to do this
