Trouble posting replies

Can anyone tell me why I have trouble posting replies to some questions but not others. Sometimes I cannot post a reply but when I look later, other people have done so but I still get a 404 error on my browser?

Judging by postings on all topics, looks like most are having problems. Last night I tried 5 times to post a fairly long reply....by the time I typed up just a couple of lines and sent them on there way, it was morning!!!

Happened again earlier.. So I sent 3 separate postings. Maybe its to stop long diatribes!!

Actually, I just tried breaking a problem post down into two and it worked but it doesn't always seem to. I definitely should try to waffle less tho. Thanks nOOdles

OOhh please don't think I meant you waffle on Hermit, pot + kettle if you get my gist. Several ABers have had to split their answers on comparatively short replys. Its just so frustrating that you can't send info in one posting. Never mind, at least we are not alone!!

I tried to post a reply and was telt there were more than 2000 characters so it couldn't be posted. I cut the last bit off, tried again but I was telt there were more than 1700 characters so it couldn't be posted. It's a matter of trial and error at the moment but the sooner ABE gets some stronger elastic bands the better...

firstly, how fast can you type? (just curious..)

Could also be that you maybe mull over your answers a lot before submitting, which could cause the server to time out, hence giving you a 404 error on your browser.

I type at 60 wpm, no there is a definate glitch at the moment to most postings. I did notice on one thread that the time sent was earlier than the previous message displayed....how wierd is that??

way 2 weird, n00dles...it's ok Hermit, it's not u, it's the AB website.

If you are using Internet Explorer 7 you will have problems posting answers. I had the problem for weeks.Am now on Mozilla Firefox with no problems.
