Thank you for asking netti, much appreciated.

Here goes:

To override or label links you will have to use the a href tag.

For egs:

my label

there is a space between a and href with no space between the following elements: href = " http

You can no longer just highlight the URL of the image (or web page) and write your label directly on it. The entire URL, beginning with http, must be written out.

Please follow the instructions laid out in the FAQ - they will be more clear as you cannot input html as I've attempted above without the formatting functions kicking in.
huh! Scratches head and gives up!!! ;o(
do what ? that's as clear as mud

Yes, it's not very clear is it, but when Ed explained it to me, it was very understandable and I have managed to do it, and we all know how dim I am.
I'm ok until i get to:

"...a and href with no space between... " and then it all goes fuzzy.
To override or label links you will have to use the anchor tag.

my label

there is a space between a and href with no space between the following elements: target='_blank' href="http

Yah, I've just learned some strange code that allowed me to write out the http stuff! Woo - hoo, c'mon if I can do that you can relabel the links!

Help - why is everything I write hyperlinked????
The new set-up here is just the way things were on AB until a couple of years ago. If I remember rightly, people then whinged about the change to the system we've had here until the other day!
Not all the html functions are available now...colours, different fonts, varied print-sizes etc...that we had then, but it is only a matter of getting used to the new ways.
To get italic, put a left-arrow (that's one of these <) followed by the letter i (for italic) followed by a right arrow (that's one of these >). Then put the word/phrase to be italicised (let's say that's your own name) then put another left arrow followed by a slash (that's one of these /) followed by another letter i followed by another right arrow. And voil...when you enter this, you should have an italicised version of your name! For bold print, just substitute two letters b for the two letters i and for underlining, just substitute two letters u for the two letters i.
For a short course on these and further html tricks', click
here and the link will take you to a website with a set of basic lessons. Just click on the various primer' headings once you get there and work your way through them. Good luck!
I'm going on a course.

I WILL NOT let this defeat me.
