Hi netibiza, Maybe Smudge got sick of B+S being taken over by banal chattters and their neverending arguments with each other.. Other genuine AB'rs have given up the ghost as well. Pity eh neti?
Thanks Netti for posting this, I was just thinking this the other day and thought I must post a thread to ask, but each time I came on here I forgot to do it. Glad to hear you are feeling better and hope all is well with Smudge.
beryllium, we're all squatting in the royal box at Wimbledon...if you look closely at your tv you'll see us at the back with our tartan rugs & flasks of horlicks.
No BOO a social life? whatever next. Hope Ed hasn't got her tied up in the dungeons, heaven forbid she was there with Vinny she'll never be the same again.
cor, sorry about the late reply Kay... the conservatory was Robinias garden post i think....lol....but since they're all at Wimbledon, looking for new balls no doubt, and eating all the strawberries.... and making Vinny streak again....
i do hope Smudge et al are ok.... haven't seen Gessoo either....
Lol, I've given up with the bold, italics n other one jobby Neti. I did a post the other night and stuck summet in italics at end of it and it made everyone elses reply slant sideways....oh the shame and guilt I felt, not worth risking it again!
Neti, you just used 57 key-strokes to tell us you don't like the html method of creating bold, whereas it takes only 7 key-strokes actually to do that. So there were 8 "emboldenings" right there, with a key-stroke to spare!
If you can drive, just remember how difficult it seemed at first, whereas now I'll bet it's second nature to you. Same with html, really. Cheers
Dear Quizzy I am a post menopausal, irritable old woman and I found it hard enough with the highlighting method of using bold, now I keep forgetting the / or the > and I much prefer using an old Imperial upright typewriter to these modern computer type thingies. Even after conquering the overwriting I have now completely forgotten how to do it. Thanks for good wishes but I've given up, my life is now too short to worry about any of it. Will now go out to spend hubby's money as that is one thing that I can manage and will not forget. he he.
I fully sympathise, ma'am...you do your own thing!
I meant, of course, in my earlier response to add my concerns about Smudge's longish absence. I trust she's well.
Seeing as we've lost the options to turn our text bold, italic and underscored by a simple click of a button we've had to be sneaky and do it like this...... < i > (no spaces) for Italics, and so on, but sometimes it goes pear shaped and makes each subsequent post follow in the same vein.
Hey Boo...i'm fine but very nearly fulfilled my childhood ambition ie to own an african gery parrot. I pulled out of the deal at the last minute as I basically did not warm to the seller and assumed that if he is not a nice person (he was a wheeler dealer who was constantly on the phone selling cars and motor bikes) then maybe he did not care for the pet. Besides i dont know if i can take a committment for another 20 years...so until next time i muster the courage.
The geezer said the parrot was 18 months old. However the internet sites state that if the iris is yellow the parrot is more than 4 years old. And as the iris was yel;low i was not convinced that the parrot was the correct age. It did not have a birth certificate and last thing i wanted to do was buy a wild imported bird as it has lots of problems with behaiviour. I will get one in a few years time after mine have flown the coop.....until then i will have to mistreat the mrs.
