quality gel, or is wax better?

im a guy. im gelling my hair up until its long enough to straighten bur NO gel i find is strong enough.
ive tried shockwaves ect. and even the strongest ones make my hair flop or go curly (because thats what my hair does when its wet)
**how do the guys on the ads make it work so well lol**
so could someone tell me a good make or would wax work better?

I've found a combination of wax/putty - then spray has the best hold

these products are all good but a bit pricey - but a little lasts for ages!!

a good spray is 'spikey' by insette which is about a quid in wilkinsons/savers!!

oooh yeah, forgot about straighteners!!

OK, so....wash & condition - use hair protector (spray or mousse) - rough dry with hairdryer - straighten - -then wax/putty - then spray - go out, enjoy - avoid rain!!

if you don't want to pay GHD prices - I got a decent pair of thin straighteners from Tesco for �9.99 - bargain!!
