Can we have a ''Cut & Paste a Wikipedia URL'' category

For factual enquiries, Wikipedia and Google cover most situations and the results in themselves often show further links. Where's the problem?

If the 'answerer' has bothered to cut & paste the URL, why didn't they just cut & paste the appropriate answer instead.

It's no more difficult, is it?

The majority of 'askers' on here could find the stuff themselves if they looked at Google or Wikipedia, but they don't.

It'd be nice to be able to read the answer to a question without having to go elsewhere for it.

Some of the answers, especially those from Wiki are huge and you are only allowed so many words in a post so it's easier in many cases to put an URL if there is a lot of of info for a particular answer.

Also on most Wiki pages there's links to other pages which may be of help as well.

Why bother going to the trouble of extracting the relevant section of a Wiki article when the asker hasn't bothered to do a simple search for themselves and then doesn't even bother to aknowledge when someone has gone to the bother of finding an answer for them?

For some of us it is hardly any trouble at all, and we don't expect any thanks or even any stars. It would be a sorry state on AB if everybody took that attitude wouldn't it?

As said above, Wiki is a good starting point for many things and has lots of links. There is no harm or laziness in pointing someone in the right direction. Would you say the same to someone who stopped by you in their car and asked for directions even if they were holding a map?
