Chatting

It is obvious you don't like us chatting on B & S. You can see there is great demand though. Why not just give up and create a topic called Chat?

A section for people who don't necessarily want to ask specific questions but just want to converse for a while. It wouldn't even need any sub-sections. People could get a "chat" going by simply posting something like:
Anyone interested in making model airplanes?
I'd like to talk to someone from Stoke.
Anyone out there remember "The Goon Show"?

I wish we could have Chatterbank back. I dont object to a bit of banter but I'd like all the inane chatter's to have a place of their own where they can say what they like to each other and swap e mail address's (which I thought was'nt allowed anyway). Let's face it,these folk really need somewhere where they can ask "What do you men find sexy in a woman?" or " What was the last thing you put in your mouth?". Or, "Im bored, will someone talk to me?". Maybe some of these poor soul's don't realise there are chat sites such as MSN,Yahoo etc.?
I really dont understand the constant desire for a chat board on Answerbank. Surely if people want to chat in cyberspace there are hundreds of other places to do so?
Although Chatterbank was useful in separating out the clique chatters and monotonous thread-filling banter, and provided a place for many desperate attention seeking sex starved and lonely billy-no-mates to get there dose of thrills. It was full of tedious rubbish and the people were offensive.
Why not try MSN or Cerescape?

Chatterbank was born (out of wedlock?) in June '05, had a brief but tumultuous lifespan, ultimately succumbing to the Grimmest of Reapers (apologies ABEd) early January '06.

i'd much prefer all the chat and inane cr*p kept contained in one section, so the ed can watch it and delete any abuse, and anyone who wants to chat knows where to go.
as it is, it is spread all over the site pushing other stuff off the topics
and i am sure we all know quite well that B&S is chatterbank in all but name

Yes my point above, and B00 I am sure you are well fed in that department (it wasnt directly aimed at you), was that although it was contained in one place, CB got out of control and became too much to manage for the poor AB team with constant abuse, threats, profanity and lets face it trailer trash.
Yes B&S could be the replacement CB and some of the questions are tiresome, but easily ignored. The cult following of inane sentiments such as the regular in-house quips about monkey suits and fondant fancies are equally lacklustre, but ultimately innocuous and also easily contained.
Less is more, so me mother told me.
