Ebay Spam
4 Answers
Hello can anyone help me please. I got email yesterday from someone asking about an item I had for sale on ebay - I am currently not selling anything. I opened email which went to their site and I had to log on. There was no such question on MY EBAY. I forgot about it but today I have come home to 109 emails all supposedly from ebay saying 'question from buyer etc. etc.' and re-directing me to a page with gobbledygook on it - can you tell me whats wrong please ? TIA Dollie x

Its obviously too late now but never open emails from people you don't know or from Banks asking for your details or from Ebay or Paypal. Even if you have an Ebay account, the fact that you haven't anything for sale should have alerted you.
Or if you are not sure, log on to the website yourself, without clicking on any link contained in the email.

You need to change your password with ebay immediately. The link in your email will have sent you to a page that looks like the login page of ebay but will not have been.
The owner of the page will now know your login and password for ebay. They may decide to buy some items so I would do it now.
It is very importnat that you never enter any credit card or login/password details in an email or through a link in an email.
Hope this helps.
