STILL trying to submit question!
8 Answers
And STILL (several days of attempts later!) getting the same error message... I've ensured that it's under the maximum message length (just) : so why is AB continuing to tell me that there's an error? I've tried submitting at different hours of the day, so it's not due to your server downtime either...
And even trying to submit THIS question I get an error message:
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0cc1'
Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal.
/Toolkit/SearchControl.asp, line 52
And even trying to submit THIS question I get an error message:

/Toolkit/SearchControl.asp, line 52

So presumably that proves I'm neither suspended nor banned?
But the BIG question I've been trying to submit... so far haven't managed :-( I got an email from AB admin suggesting that I might have tried submitting it during their server's down time, but since I've tried during various times of the day, that can't be the explanation either.
So I'm utterly baffled!

Here's the answer aquiotta, but I don't understand a word of it, perhaps you might.

That's strange - I've just clicked the link and it works fine. Try the whole link and see if this helps : http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=ADODB.R ecordset+error+%27800a0cc1%27+%2B+forum+error+ message&meta=
If it still doesn't work it could be your browser. Are you IE7 or Mozilla?

:-) Google wouldn't let me look at the link-as-it-was-given, but thanks to your tip, Cetti, I went to google and pasted the error message into its search box, and THAT worked. Unfortunately, I'm not an AB administrator! so can't tweak the NOCOUNT settings they refer to. Even more puzzling: AB is accepting THESE messages, AND allowed me to send the problem Question to AB Admin - it's simply popping up the error message when I try to submit Ye Question to where I *need* it, ie., Technology! So I'm guessing that the gremlin is skulking perhaps somewhere in the Technology setting [where else, I suppose, for a cyber-problem!?]
*sigh*....
But consequently, Whiskery Ron, am not sure that re-registering would help much, since THESE messages are getting through fine...?
