best music download site

I'm currently using a Russian one that is Legal apparently , allofmp3.com , i can download singles or songs at random for about 15p to 25p each .
This site is down i assume at the moment , whats the best ones to use ??
I have heard rumours that Limewire has been infecting computers with a virus so want to steer clear of that.

The Russian site pays NO money in royalties to any of the artists or record companies.

It is as illegal as Limiewire, just not free.
