Why are so many users of AB abusive?

I'm fairly new on here (about two months now ). Why is there so many people that are abusive on here and how come they get away with being so?

Im jumping in before 4get( who is lovely) I have been an aber for nearly two years and yes your right,there are a few that are abusive,but sometimes they are only joking, if not some one always tells them off about it. It does spoil some threads though.

because people will write what they like. some people you know are doing it to wind people up. Everybody has the right to report any posts they find abusive etc and I think after so many people do it the question gets banned

thanks baby and forget, just wondering, doesnt bother me too much but it can become a bit tiresome, i know because ive done it too. been lulled in so to speak then the next thing you know .........full on arguement.Dont get me wrong ,I quite enjoy watching whats going on, its quite informing, but never the less,sometimes it could hurt someones feelings.

thanks ethel, i was just wondering, i also have an obscure sense of humour but when it gets nasty i really dont understand. Is this your true sense of self coming out, or is it because people can hide behind a screen ?

A lot of the site is based upon shared opinions. Often the opinions of people are different from one to the other and some feel so strongly that they are right they feel the need to argue the point against someone who disagrees. Nowt wrong with that. Other people don�t have an opinion, are self-opinionated or just plain rude. Don�t confuse debate and banter with spite.

This is society in general, and seemingly a large part of AB. No need to get sensitive about it. As Ethel says, there are a few and you can either ignore them or get embroiled in their childish games. Either way you can make that choice and take the consequences � usually with a pinch of salt.

octavia, i am sensitive , perhaps more than i should be , and let me start by saying..........that was very well said.Im the kind of person that can listen , then talk to people.....from whatever background. it is rude and ignorant ,some people, but i have found that whilst your typing an answer you also give yourself time to calm down,and think of a better response.Perhaps im slow at typing but dont you think this is the way of the world now...............know one is really listening.

I'm new to ab too and at first I was a bit taken aback by some answers - but I have learnt to understand some people's sense of humour and now think this is the funniest and most interesting site on the web !!

Well one answer I got from my genuine law question was "get a life". I thought thanks a lot I am really struggling here...with this and many other facets of my life. The person posting is probably just a coward who hinds behind a keyboard. If we were face to face I don;t think he would post such a piggish reply.
