I can't relax...
6 Answers
I'm very stressed at the moment. I need a good way to relax. I've just spent about 5 mins on the bed, lying down with my eyes closed but i couldn't relax. I want to be able to relax. I can't have a vaccation because of work. I have ran out of sedatives and on going to the pharmacy was told i would have to import them from America. Please, do you know any good way of relaxing and clearing your head. I've got to go to a meeting in about 3 hours and if i go how i am now, i'll be thrown out.

Keep topping the hot water up and stay there for a good hour. You may nod off but watch you don't drown. Only joking about the last bit.

if you ask me, the best way to relax, is to simply go for a walk. ideally in the middle of no where. sounds stupid huh? but walking in the middle of, say a field, eliminates all other external stimuli were used to. cars, traffic, adverts blah blah blah. the fresh air clears your mind, your away from the rubbish of the modern world (well, i say modern...!) you can think easily, and of course, you can talk to yourself. talking to yourself is a good way for your brain to get working and helps you structure things easily and in a nice calming way. atleast for me it is. a bath just sends me to sleep, a walk restarts my system so i can still function. who the hell knows where i'd be now if i never went for those long long walks!
of course, i live in the north of england, rolling fields and winding random hidden foot paths litter the place. (sorry, but i always imagine people from america live in the city, thats what amercian films will do to us british!) my favorite place is just up on a hill, inbetween a corn field and a hedgerow, under a tree. in summer, that place is heaven! I prefer to call it a "chill-out" rather than "relaxing" relaxing always makes me think of those cheap de-stress tapes with some fool telling you how to relax. puh-lease!
my advice? dont have a bath! thats asking for your body to shut down and sleep, no good! breathing exercises? im told they work, but im really not convinced!
anyway, just go for a walk. trust me. im from the internet. i must be right!
