can't access webmail from laptop

As you may guess I know naff-all about computers so this may be a basic question to someone. My email is via talktalk (boo hiss!) webmail and has worked perfectly fine on my desktop. I have since bought a laptop and a wireless router (again work perfectly fine) BUT i cannot seem to access my emails from the laptop. It just says 'automatic pop up windows are disabled for your browser. You must allow pop up windows for the webmail URL to continue' I have tried to change pop up blocker settings using the tool bar. What doesn't seem to happen is that I don't get the beige coloured bar that is supposed to drop down to allow me to 'always allow pop ups from this site'. Anybody know what I am doing wrong? (I'm sure there are some 5 year olds who would know the answer to this)
