Why are we allowed to post questions under the headings. ie Technology should be just a heading forcing ABers to select a sub category if this happens a sub heading called others should be added

the subs have only been on the site for just under a year and the original categories contain alot of older questions and so it is useful to have them still, as previous questions may show on the previosuly asked lists.

I agree entirely (and have said so on several occasions). Answerbank has more than 80 topics which, in my opinion, is too many.

Here are a couple of examples: If you click on "Food & Drink" you can post a question directly into the main heading but there are also four sub-headings including one for "Drinks" and one for "Food"!

Also, if you click on "History", it opens up a topic headed (in the red bar at the top) "History & Myths". There is also a sub-heading called "Myths & Legends".

This is unnecessary duplication.

It would be better if a topic has sub-sections for it to be impossible to post questions directly into the topic heading. This would encourage posters to put their questions into the most appropriate section and could result in their question being answered more quickly.
