Dear Ed, why do you persist in leaving Sport in its present form, totally isolated from the main site?
Why set up a message service, that would be more suitable for Body & Soul or Chatterbank?
Why don't you move Weather in there, a subject more suited to the dreary format?
Chatterbank was brought back, no doubt to appease the female users, so why can't we have Sports returned to where it belongs?

I love the weather section and often go in there before planning any kind of life I may have. Sticking your head out the window to see the weather is a far riskier business.
Chatterbank is just great, I love it, I get to talk about shoes... actually I did that in suggestions I think.... Hmmmm....

Ruby, If B&S had been moved like Sport, it would have killed the category stone dead.
Chatterbank is a bit like Sport used to be, full of banter, insults, the occasional death threat, but was enjoyed by most members, male and female.
Legend and knobby have nowhere else to go, to enjoy their manly pursuits and would probably welcome a bit more male company, if Sport was returned to the fold.

Hello cambus,
Just a couple of thoughts.
I think technically the SAB is build on newer and better code. This means that more stuff can be done on it, Like PMs and avatars.
The Ed informed me that Pub Chat was supposed to be Chatterbank for Sport. They might have told us at the start. It quite clearly isn't working that way.
The Sport was seperated for business reasons. Like opening another shop. It can sell more adverts and to a more targeted audience.
Where they went wrong was ditching a proven design and user format for one which is horrible.
At the moment it doesn't look or feel like AnswerBank.
I don't think it will ever be returned to the way it was, but I hope the put more effort into integrating it back to the AB experience.

Gromit, you are probably right about the business and technology issues, but if I was an advertiser on there, I think I would be concerned about the number of hits it receives.
The whole place lacks everything we have on here, its like being in a strange pub with rotten beer, a good analogy I think.
