Banning .....

Is there any chance the ED could explain the banning mechanism......what are the criteria? This would be helpfull for those of us who feel they are still in the dark in regards to the inner-workings of AB. Even if I were a bystander I would think it was sometimes rather random and hit-or -miss. As I posted last night-seemingly innocent and interesting posts are removed.....while some quite vile ones aren't touched.

All because when the site is playing up, my attempts to post count as multiple posting (spamming).

General Answewer

The Ed would probably say that it's in the Site Rules but basically, 3 strikes (reports) and you're outta there and in to the dungeon. Sometimes it is because you have tried to post numberous times within a certain time frame, usually because the site is playing up. Other times because 3 or more ABers have taken offence at your question. As I understand it the question will then be reviewed by the techie team and if it is deemed ok it'll be put back. If not then in to the internet black hole it goes.
