I'm currently learning Greek and have a problem. In the lessons I'm using, the word for man is spelt ο άνδρας.

However, I downloaded some grammar notes from the internet and was surprised to see that they spelt the word for man ο άντρας.

Is this an alternative spelling or is the second one wrong as the pronunciation in each case is slightly different.

It is a regional thing and purely down to dialect, i would not over worry as they are both acceptable and both would indicate that you have a grasp of the language.
Sorry Lucy, can't help I'm afraid......it's all greek to me... :s
Very interesting, your mastery of alternative fonts, but asking your question here in monkey land is not going to get much more than peanuts and gibbon droppings.
