fun ideas for a rainy day
hi it has rained none stop here for 3 days and the kids are now really board. any one got any different fun ideas to keep them amused, we cant go out as i dont drive. the school is closed due to no heatin today so i need things to amuse kids aged 1 2 4 and 7. over the last couple of days we have already done
painting-including painting there hands and feet
play dough
sticking
jigsaws
hide and seek
we made a tent out of my sofa cushions and my bed sheets- now that was fun.
the kids are all getting on each others nerves now buit its because they are fed up with been stuck in
any ideas will be great- i have a newborn to watch too so something that they can do on there on if needed while i fed the baby!

I know this might not sound like much fun out loud, but I found my neice and little cousins around the same age loved being able to help with housework. I would squirt furniture polish on the furniture and hand one a duster, the other one would sort washing into piles, anothjer would dry spoons bowls, etc/ Admittedly sounds a bit crap, but they'd have so much fun thinking they were helping (usually making more mess than anything else LOL) and playing some music they like too :-)
What about making pizzas / decorating cakes?

Paper plane competition - they can make their own planes - decorate them then fly them down the hall.

The little ones might need a wee bit of help.

thaks annie, thats a good one ans isnt very messy either. they are currently cleaning the house as nat suggested it and loving it.i havw one washing my patio doors, one is sweepin the kitchen and the other two are helping me with washing. why didnt i think of this ages ago my life would have been so much easier
Hi ethanryan, how about a teddy bears picnic? They could make up their own little invite to give to their favourite teddy bear or soft toy and then bring them along to a picnic lunch. Do you happen to have paper plates there? If so then they could personalise the plates and do name tags for themselves and their cuddly guests.
Send them round to me when they are finished - or maybe not - the last time I sent the boys to tidy their room, it looked fine, but I spent the rest of the week trying to sort through all the stuff they had thrown into the wardrobe and under the bed. I was putting the washing away yesterday and found 2 pairs of dirty jeans in their sock drawer!
annie, my neice decided she wanted to wash the front of the kitchen cupboards last time we did this and the kitchen ended up like a swimming pool - I didn't say it's good idea to pass the time, just that it's an idea LOL
I can just picture ER relaxing on sofa with a cuppa and a few biccies as the troopers go about their chores LOL
