limited posts perhaps?

right, i might get slaughtered for this suggestion and it is NOT aimed at anyone in particular but maybe there should be a limit on the amount of questions that any one poster posts within a 24 hour period.

Questions that were posted around 10ish last night have been pushed right back 4 pages, we have to wade through 3-4 pages of nonsense before we can see the latest, (proper) posts from the night before.

Im not having a dig at anyone but it is so bloody dull now. Surely im not the only one who is sick of it. I think its a shame that questions that are fun, or questions where genuine answers are required will go unnoticed because of this.

Morning Jules, I agree, it's just nonsensical, I couldn't to a certain point last night where I just though "Aw balls to it, cannot be arsed", it's this sort of thing which puts me off AB.

I agree. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to restrict liberties for the good of all (I should write books...lol).
Bathsheba, overposting refers to posting more than a certain amount of posts/threads within a few minutes rather than over the course of an evening for example.

24 hour is too long a period though, and would restrict genuine posters on, for example, Quizzes&Puzzles who reply throughout the day. I'd say by the hour would be good, and should be limited to posting actual threads, not replies.

good morning ladies. well i see good Q's getting pushed way way back for this nonsense and like you hellie, i just cant be ar$ed. It isnt fair on evryone else that this stuff just completely takes over on here. Ok so i know that someone with multiple usernames will keep doing it but its obvious to the ed who is who on here so something could be done of this rule was broken in this way.

It is spoiling chatterbank for eveyone else who isnt involved in the crap.
i came on here looking for a quesion i posted on at roughly 12.30 last night and it was 4 pages back, so no one else will post on it today, its done, dead as, cause of where it has ended up. shame.

I think that's a good idea indeed jules honey . If I log on and see a string of threads from the same persons I find the threads I can post in are pages back , and I can miss them , or get to post on them too late .

Can you not see that they are feasting off you night after night with the posts you are putting on cb. They must find it all so amusing. Like throwing drawing pins under your feet and watching you dance!

I know you hate the goadingand i totally understand and appreciate that but believe me, they would get bored if you didnt respond. It has got out of hand on CB now, its taking over .

close it from 10pm to 9am adapt the ignore user facility that other sites have, the problem with your suggestion julie is that people make up 30,000 different names, it is one big waste of a life this whole place to be honest and i am weaning myself off it because you log off after a session and you think i"i have just wasted an hour of my life"

i said chatterbank would end up the way it is now because it was exactly the same the first time around, and what makes me laugh is people e mailing the editor etc as if they care all the editor wants is for people to read the adverts down the side of the page and arguments etc attract people into posts to read them like rubbernecking at a car accident. some site have admin who patrol the site and ban instantly when things get out of hand but the powers that be here have neither the interest or resources to do that so it will just be groundhog day for ever more on here. why anyone would sit until 3 or 4 am arguing with a set of miniature dots on a screen is beyond me and it s all very well blaming knobby etc but it takes 2 to argue and their are stain users on here who poke people pixelly and slink off sniggering at the mayhem which ruin it for decent people like yourself julie

Bacon sarnie munched.... Even if you closed CB between certain hours the rubbish would spill over in to other sections. It already does on occasion. Plus some people purely get off on it. Sad b ut true.
