blatant promotion of other sites !!

Now youre back on form i hope we can return to the good old days where any links to other sites advertising them were removed.Lately the site has been on certain days swamped by talk of facebook,yoville and other social networking sites like myspace and bebo.I only hope you will continue your good work and stop users cluttering the site with nonsense about fruitmachines and imaginery tvs bought for imaginery houses in an imaginery town.As im sure you can imagine its all rather boring to those of us not there.And i just hope that folk who enjoy these places will continue to use them , but consider users here who dont and arent interested in loads of posts about something not relevant to ab and not allowed to be promoted under the site rules.

way before there was a facebook page of ab members i always though social network sites to be incredibly silly and a great big waste of time, to me all it is "ooh look at me i have 34,789 friends i dont know 99 per cent of them but hey ho" however if that is what floats peoples boats then that is fantastic, what i object to is people throwing toys out of prams when i or anyone else makes a joke about yeovil fb or any other site, i poke fun at myself endlessly and i will not be told what i can or cannot post by members of fb or anywhere else

I don't have that many friends on it. It is just a direct way of talking to my kids when I have no money on my phone.
I like the games they have on there as well.
Bowling buddies is great.
Not every one use it for that purpose. I couldn't gather 34 friends let alone 34000 odd. Thats adding people just for the sake of it. Then ur asking for trouble.

that is fair do's bob, however some people do open up on here and will take things personally, they dont have a persona they are truly themselves and open, when its being open to nasty comments it can be very hurtful.

some things that have been said to me in the past by various members have been quite hurtful, its not a case of being sensitive, if I was the sensitive type I would create a persona that would shield the real me from uncalled for abuse.

people on here are generally nice and as they get to know each other they open up more about themselves, unfortunately though this becomes the ammunition that will be used to abuse the member by the users who only feel better by belittling others

I mightve been bothered by any nasty comments on this thread from users towards me.But on reflection ive seen them alll sucking up on cb to peddlars of death threats , cancer and blindness to children plus assorted vile insults.So im secure in the knowledge that their judgement can be questionable.No names obviously.
