She is going to WONDER into the pregnancy section.
Should that be WANDER.
What a bunch of no-hopers. Where have standards gone.
Probably got a degree in social engineering.

I have to say Im an awful speller and have always put it down to my first language being Welsh and therefore English took a bit of a back burner! But since going to Uni, I found that I am dyslexic and have mind block problems with a few words! Cant even begin to spell some words and have to look it up!

Be careful, Doc!
Sometimes when Im in a bit of a belligerent mood I occasionally suggest that AB-ers might like to brush up on their grammar, spelling or punctuation (one recent example here):

As you can see, it is usually met with distain, abuse or rudeness (very often all three and more besides). The notion that good presentation of a question (in particular, making it intelligible to any person reading it) might help receive a decent answer seems to be viewed as being judgemental or highbrow or similar. It seems to be that as long as people get the gist then anything goes.
Im particularly interested in the wrong use of apostrophes and have never, despite asking, found out why people wrongly use them in some plurals but not others.
So the answer to your question seems to me to be that standards no longer matter. Many people in this country receive such a poor education that they cannot be expected to be able to apply a few simple rules when writing in English. More disturbing, however, is that they seem perfectly content to conduct their lives without taking the trouble to learn what they were not taught at school.
