MM Links August [Week 4]
53 Answers
Last week was certainly a record-breaking week in more ways than one, with multiple correct guesses in the MM links game, followed by an unprecedented number of Olympic medals being won by Team GB, particularly in the cycling, rowing and sailing events.
Our August links game may well be heading for the record book in relation to the number of points accrued by the winning entrant, and once again it was wickedtongue who continued to dominate with yet another three correct entries. In total, six entrants managed three hits out of four!!
Sir Sarumite thinks to himself: "I must hatch a fiendishly cunning plan for Week 4 in order to stem the tide?!!"

However, Im not feeling too guilty, as the wet weather was a good excuse for neglecting outside duties.
The cost of living continues to soar at an alarming rate with higher fuel and energy prices having the expected knock-on effect on the cost of goods in the shops. It wasnt too long ago that I could fill the tank of my car with diesel for about 35, but now its risen to more than 45!
Some of you may recall the classic BBC radio comedy series "Beyond Our Ken", which used to feature a gardener called Arthur Fallowfield (played by Kenneth Williams). His response to anyone who asked him anything was always (in a West Country accent) "the answer lies in the soil".
That may well be the answer, and the ramblings above may hold hints to this weeks theme, but what will the questions be?

According with normal practice, for the everyday running of MM Links, I will follow the usual rule on word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!
Each of the selected link words may go in front or behind my challenge word! The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when crofter will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My fourth set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.
