ED: ok I think we are all agreed that the current sport section is a shilo Pitt, anyway it does have one feature that the main AB should adopt. Can we have the facility to register avatar's? It makes it useful when quickly looking down a post to see who's posted. Any chance ed, they already did it in the old beta version so the code is there. thanks

We did have this opportunity when they trialed the ABbeta, it really caused problems and slowed the site down and half the time users jusy couldn't post, but they did the avatars on the main site in the format it is now, not as it is in the sports section, for some reason, in the sports section, all the options they changed worked in there, on here they didn;t, it must have been a technical thing

I was never able to upload an avatar at all. I'm all in favour of'em just as long as they're not animated. Messes with my wee brain that does.

lol I know Ethel but it helps define a person!!!! I have Garth Brooks as mine usually, at the moment I am using Christopher Jones and Allen Case though (Jesse and Frank James from the 1960's TV show)

From what I've seen in other forums, I doubt very much the majority of female users look anything like their Jessica Rabbit style avatars.

well i do have a large white stetson hat on my wall!!! It says who i like, what I am interested in, it's like a signature. I might change it to pete duel or Rick Nelson, (in his garden party era) but if i changed it to leon jackson or amy winehouse people would have a different perception of me,

To my way of thinking it's not about looking like your avatar, Ethel. We don't look like the clothes we wear or the paintings we put on our walls but the choices we make define us, as Dot says. I think of them as an expression of our different subpersonalities and that's extremely interesting, I would say.
