how to copy from samsung camcorder

at christmas i bought a mini dv samsung d381 camcorder.its only recently we realised the only way to copy the footage is to a video recorder onto a video tape.i wanted to be aple to put on my laptop and copy to disc but seems unable to do that,wouldn't you think in this day and age it would be able to do this?im not very good at technology so just wondering if anyone knows if usb leads would fit or any other way this would be possible,thanks.

It can do that.

it has a DV out port which is also known as Firewire and IEEE1394 and is pretty much the industry standard for intefacing a DV camcoder to a PC.

thanks,i knew someone would be able to help me!does this card go into my usb then?then i would need a lead from the dv port to the card?
