Anyone who types a line longer than the width of a sceen in a forum will force the width to expand to fill it, which from what I've seen is a virtually infinite ability. The commones cause is adding an URL in full which is a sub-sub page reference to an article or similar, and about 3 lines long. These can all be fixed by the admin if their attention is actually drawn to it (as of course you just have).
