sort of a link here but instead of hijacking other peoples threads I thought I would start a proper one regarding who you are and what your like outside this virtual custard pie throwing arena!
Theland just read your link on Wizards page so thought I would come back to you on a proper thread.
I am sorry that life is throwing you lemons just now and hope you can start making some lemonade soon!
Didnt picture you as a ship builder! sounds very interesting work!
If anyone else wants to add to this please feel free.

Ah Waldo, never short of an answer. ;o)
Sherman, soft , blonde, mellow, and simply delicious - my infamous custard pies are legendary.
Wiz, pardon my ignorance, but what are Orange Wednesdays? I absolutely adore Harry Potter. Brilliant concept. Let me know what it's like, will you? I've read vastly conflicting reviews. Chocolates at the ready - I'm hoping to go this weekend.
I got an email from Theland. He says he working very long hours (could that be part of the problem?) and doesn't use the computer much. He sounds rather sad, but not too down in spirit, so I'm quite confident that he and Mrs T will sort it out soon - and that isn't due to me being an optimist (which I am) - it's because I know that Theland goes through rough patches but always comes out at the other end. I hope they manage to resolve their differences. People like Theland and Mrs T don't get divorced. It's just one of life's blips. Not a very nice blip, but a blip nonetheless. You reading this Theland?

Lovely thread Sherman, good idea to loosen the tie and chew the cud for a while.
Me?
The truth?
Well I'm married 37 years to the most wonderful woman a man could have, but I have failed to appreciate her and let her know how much I love her. And I do.
For example, today is her birthday, and I'm letting her play with the washing machine ALL DAY!
She loves that thing more than me.
I turn to the kind folk on here who are good listeners when I have problems, like when my health goes down, or the depression kicks in, and their humour, advice and non patronising comments are always helpful in the long run, if uncomfortable in the short run. (Hard asses some of 'em).
I love my wife, but I need to prove it and demonstrate it more, I have been rather selfish and uncaring, though it hurts to admit it.
I have a great family, 6 kids and 4 grandkids. How blessed I am.
Aw shucks, I could write all day but work calls alas!
Maybe get back on here tomorrow for chapter 2?

Hello Theland, I just emailed you, but I'm pleased to see you here again and I'm looking forward to the day you tell us all is well, and are able to bring back to AB your lovely sense of humour. I'd revive the parties aboard the Ark in celebration! Oh how I'd love to hear the Loony orchestra strike up again! How daft it all was - but what fun we had!
Perhaps this thread of Sherman's could fill the Sanctuary's gap? I still have the key to the wine cellar, the jellied eels are in the fridge, and I'm dusting off my paper and comb as we speak. Answers from former Loonies - and from potential new recruits - on a postcard please.

Waldo, it was a very old thread where just a few of us used to go to chat away from all the arguments and nastiness - hence the name. I recall we talked about asking you to join us, but no one had a contact address.
Sherman, I suspected it was something like that, but I've no idea what film it comes from. Please don't tell me it's Terminator - I really enjoyed that - several times. No .... on second thoughts, do please tell me.

Oh thanks Sherman. (I knew you were also Sherminator. Why do you have two names?).
I'm sure I started watching that film on a plane once, but it couldn't have grabbed me because I think I fell asleep part way through and I can't recall any of the story line. And speaking of recall, I loved Total Recall.
You're obviously a great Arnie fan, then?
