Does anyone else feel that some users of the Answerbank need to learn a bit of netiquette. I have noticed rising levels of aggression, hostiltity and irrelevance among the AB postings. I joined years ago because I thought the AB represented everything that was great about the Internet - friendly, helpful people sharing knowledge in a spirit of reciprocation. It had become something of soapbox for some and just a plain anger vent for others.

To my horror I realise that I have myself broken a cardinal rule and left in a typo. Mr Mime, I agree with your point and would never stop frequenting the answerbank just for the diehard lovelies out there but sometimes, particularly in the religious section it is like entering a lions den when you join in a thread. I think that some contributors forget that it is difficult to modulate levels of sarcasm, wryness, etc in print. I wonder if they even know how they are coming across?

Unfortunately your right and there are some very rude people on the net, so im wondering are these folk as rude in real life or is it just a made up persona because they are anonymous?
MrMime, It is funny that you should raise that point , because I have been wondering the very same for quite a while now.
Do some posters automatically get a personality transplant as soon as their fingers touch a keyboard and the are on the world wide net.?
I suppose you could compare it to the behaviour change some people undergo as soon as they get in the drving seat of a vehicle.
A great pity really and so sad.
I'm not made up or anonymous and mostly i am irreverent sorry irrelevent
Dot,your not,but isin't the blondie one.or two?

LOL,yeah i forgot to add that whifffey! The 'witch' was nothing but a weeping pus filled wart on the ass of society! GOOD RIDDANCE! Craft i find gloating Very attractive, very sexy and very apt in this situation, And whats even more funny is imagining the witchs anger as they read this! LOL!
If you are unhappy with the comments you get in the religion section, surely that is where you should make your complaint,
or any other special section,
But people come on chatterbank for idle banter mostly, so a certain amount of sarcas'm must be expected here, but mostly harmless tongue in cheek stuff really.
yes, have to agree with logic there,if your problem is with the hoy polloys in religion then I would post there where you can tackle the perpetrators on their turf
OOOOh I say CAZZZ, have you got over wanting to duff me up then,?
yes, I think funnygirl was being irrational, buy her some forcourt flowers and a toblerone , you will knock her bandy ;)
yes I suppose you are right CAZZZ,
but you just can't please some people,
start off with forcourt flowers and toblerone, and before you know it she will be wanting roses and dairybox,
But mcKnobby im just talking about the wicked witch of the west from the timeless classic "The Wizard Of Oz" Which was featured on the program "The hundred Greatest Family films!"
logic, you could try "treat her mean, keep her keen"?
i think there are a couple of people that blieve they 'own' the religion section and if you dont fit inwho you will be hounded out regardless of your beliefs. nasty characters too when they bite. very spiteful. not sure about other topics really, most seem friendly enough.
uh oh, thought i was being mean CAZZZ,
gizmo, it is sad that the site has a few people on here who spoil it for everyone else. As for the religion section - I dare not step foot in there. Not with my life choices anyway!
Live and let live, eh?!

logic, I was only citing the religious section as an example. Over-harsh postings are all over the site. I chose chatterbank as a neutral territory to raise this topic. Apologies if I have misunderstood the purpose of this section.
