What Is AnswerBank?
81 Answers
Dear All,
We at AB Towers have recently been wondering how we can make the site better for you all. We thought one of the best ways to start this would be to open a debate about what you believe The AnswerBank is. Is it a Is it a place to get answers? A Place to Ask Questions? local village pub? A support group? A place to check you did "the right thing,"? or maybe somewhere to put the world to rights?
What do you consider the main purpose of The Answerbank?
How do you use The Answerbank?
Any theories are welcome! Throw your ideas into The AnswerBank Blender (Is it a blender or a pestel and mortar?) and we'll see what the answer is!
All the best,
Spare Ed

Hi all, my thoughts about this site, 100/100% It gives you all you want, advice, humor, Knowledge, answers, Problem with problem advice, and It's free of charge, if the product is good, don't alter it, I was on a previous site that started good "" Ask Your Neighbour"" there was banter, all as this site gives, but then they started the adverts & forgetting who made the site successful, what happened? well I am here for one I think you will understand that last statement. Good Luck with AB keep up the good work.
its a bit of everything, I like the format, I do think the discussion censor is a little strong, debate should be encouraged because it attracts people to post more, not abuse, debate.
there is a difference yet a lot of lively posts get pulled!
by restricting the freedom to exchange views will put a lot of people off posting anything that may be deemed "opinionated" creating a less active board

Thanks TWR - the two worst enemies of a brand or product like this are new friends (because they want to change it to make their mark) and old friends (because they're bored of it already!) - we'll try not to be either!
Cazz - we only censor the rude, abusive and nasty. I am sorry if you believe otherwise. Debate should not get nasty so we attempt to remove any posts which do go that way. We don't mind strong opinions we just don't like it when users begin attacking one another.
Please continue contributing if you have any further thoughts about the AnswerBank in general, we're listening!

When is my presentation? I want my robes & mortar flashed with multi-neon colors.

Without beating the proverbial dead horse, and with only a modicum of hand-waiving, could you prod the Techies to once again consider WYSiWYG style bolding, italics and underlining? It's probably the one thing that can make a poster's post (is that redundant?) personalized and enhance the emotion involved.
Additionally , a self-reading text editor that would eliminate any post that includes any semblance of the phrase "Why don't you just Google it"... defeats the purpose of the site or so it seems to me.
One other thought... a red-flag when the maximum length of script per message is approached. I see a lot of posters that don't understand why part of their reply has been eliminated, thinking it lost.
Lastly, postdidactic isn't hyphenated, but you'r credited with trying with style... (said with all the felicitousness one can muster).
