<i>Sorry</i>, <u>just</u> <b>testing</b>.
I understand that none of the html instructions for the three words above - italics, underlining or bold - will take effect. If so, the only way to emphasise anything here on AnswerBank is to type it in block capitals. According to general netiquette, this is usually taken to mean shouting and is considered rude at best. It is even against the site's OWN rules! Is it not time, therefore, that the other options were made available again?
Of course, if this appears as I intended it to, I was clearly wrong in my opening assumption.

I believe these things are in the works, it is more likely to be a WYSIWYG system rather than html tags though - it just makes it a little simpler for those who are uninitiated! This is something which is likely to be a wee while off as there are other issues on the list (like font size changes) which need to happen first.
I know a lot of the time it seems like we're being very slow but we operate on a "one for you, one for us" system. I.e. the tech team build you something then build us a tool to deal with you all!
B00. Yes, there may well be colours. I personally am not a fan but some people think the site is not bright enough as it is!
All the best,

Thank you for your reply. Colour, within reason, is all right, but I certainly would not like to see ALL of the old system returned with possibilities of marqueeing, for example, offering as it did multi-coloured messages flashing across our monitors! I'll just need to be patient and go on offering non-shouted upper-case lettering when I feel the need to emphasise.
