I know i have made this suggestion before, but in the present situation on CB where some members are being paranoid about others, plus accusations about cliques and stiff are rife, is there anyway you can identify a person using their id linked to their isp? I am sick of the snide suggestions that get bandied about as to whether i am in cahoots with other users that some people think could be the troll. It's bloody annoying to be doing something on line and just nip into AB for a nosey and find people are slagging me off opr making stupid unfounded comments about me. They're all blathering idiots and they can sod off as far as i am concerned, but at the same time they're bang out of order. Idiots. Actually could you just shoot them? In a cyber way like a cyber duck shoot?

Craft, I have eliminated every female with any christian name called white born in that geographical census enumeration district in 1839 or 5 years either side that had a father called William White. There were several but i tyracked them all through the census returns, there is no Fanny White anywhere in the country on the 1841 to 1861 census that i have not been able to trace having a totally different life to the fanny who married henry Jacobs. I therefore looked closley at the families of the whites and found that mary disapeared after the 1851 census, but fanny appeared from the 1861 census, The Fanny White on the 1861 as a servant in Bishop's Hull, does not exist on the 1851 and 1841 census returns for the county of gloucester or somerset. This has led me to conclude that mary changed her name to Fanny, possibly when she moved to Somerset in service, as she was mary in 1851 aged 12 living in service near her parents at tumpty green.

Unfortunately,on most ISP services, the "tail"(that is the personal number of your ISp varies each time you log on.
An ISP Number consists of three sections
The main number (The ISP providers number)
The local area ISP number(in my case the area near Rye,East Sussex)
Then (the important bit) your personal ISP number, which as I say can vary from log on to log on.
So even if AB blocked the whole number, due to the fact that the "tail" of the number changed it would be a bit pointless,.
I am a moderator of another forum, and I and the other mods went into this in depth with a BT Broadband Technical Helpdesk, and the above was what I was told.
Only if AB can moderate all the categories more throughly can we weed out such posters, but that seems unlikely.
Given also the ease with which one can register on Ab with another username,by using an very easily obtained free Hotmail account, this would aslo seem to defeat any such moves.
I appreciate how annoying it is,but these people revel in the aggro they cause, one of the best ways to defeat them is to ignore them.
Not easy but effective, starve them of attention and they die.
