Please explain the rationale for banning my question 'If, when you were sixteen, you could have asked your parents one thing and could have guaranteed an honest response, what would it have been? What would you have wanted to know?'

I fail to see anything contentious about asking people what one thing they wished their parents had told them at sixteen. If responses were contentious then surely they should be banned, not an entirely benign question.

WaldoMcFroog - My apologies, but the sort of conversational question to which you refer is not, I felt, strictly relevant to this website - a knowledge exchange - and therefore was removed in order to retain space for other users' quest for hard facts.

There are a number of readily available message boards on which users can exchange nostalgic reminisences. However, there are fewer sites with the intention for which TheAnswerbank was set up. We are grateful to all our users who respect this.

All the best,

Waldo - I didn't get the chance to read your question, but sounds like an interseting one. I would have thought some of the answers you could have received, might have been helpful to others.

As I said earlier this morning, some valid Q/A are banned on a whim, where other insignificant Q/A aren't. AB Ed disagrees with me, so I stand corrected.

Well, I wasn't after individual 'nostalgic reminiscences' as such, more an impression of what things people felt would have improved their lives, and by extension, other people's by knowing at an earlier age. If I were to rephrase the question, would it be allowed?

Thanks for the response!

Try rephrasing it then - but don't mention any 'brand' names in the question, LOL!
