Unable to launch Firefox
I’m running Firefox as my default browser, just recently I have been unable to use it on my PC due to a strange fault/error. On launching the application, I get a message box informing me that ‘firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing firefox process, or restart your system.’
Looking in the Task Manager – firefox is not a listed running process, and therefore I am unable to close (end) the existing firefox. Are there other known ‘processes’ that my PC is incorrectly registering as being firefox (causing this problem) – or can anyone suggest a solution?

Restart your PC and run the installation program again, as if you were starting afresh. (However, do NOT uninstall Firefox first). Your problem should now have disappeared and Firefox will function normally. (All of your bookmarks and settings will remain intact).

I downloaded firefox again and re-installed it – now my PC can’t find the firefox.exe file to run the application.
I have tried uninstalling the application (firefox), but get a message that the uninstall file has been corrupted.
I guess I will have to shred the firefox file within my program files, with a complete re-install. I am a bit concerned at doing this, since ‘chrome’, which I am now using, appears to be within my firefox file – and hence I could loose all applications allowing internet access.
Having said that, I have installed ‘opera’ as a back up, so could shred my firefox file (and possibly loose chrome) – and still have an internet browser.
I would appreciate your (Buenchico) thoughts on my predicament – but might end up a default chrome user – if firefox can’t be sorted.
My only issues with chrome are that I cannot work out how to import my bookmarks (from firefox) and the bookmarks to date appear within a bar (at the top), rather than at the left hand side. But again, cannot see how to achieve this on chrome.
