Now will some kind person tell me how I put an avatar on ?

Click on 'My Profile' (upper left corner)
Click on 'Edit User Details' (below your Stats)
Copy your email address and click on the link to Gravatar.com
Play the demonstration video.
Click on 'Sign up' (at top of page) for a free Gravatar account.
Paste the email address listed in your AnswerBank profile and 'Signup'
Go to your email and click on the link provided.
Finish creating your account.
Add your image:

To use an image from your computer (choose the computer option, click on 'browse' and then double click on the image you want to use)
To use an image from the internet (choose the internet option, copy the url for the image you want and paste in the space provided).

When you've finished choosing your avatar it should show up in AnswerBank. If not, edit your profile and check the box to activate your avatar.

I have changed my avatar using the gravatar website but it hasn't changed on here yet, does anyone know why this is?
Apologies by the way Mctavish but didn't want to start yet another avatar thread!

Was taken at Blackpool Zoo, their lemur enclosure is one you can walk through so we could get right up close to them, not allowed to touch them though!

Why can I only see what I assume is a photo of Sophie and can only see the lemur when I click on her member profile. This is confusing me as I've noticed the same thing with quite a few other posters referring to their avatars?

Try the Ctrl+F5 thing Prudie, worked for me!

yes I think you have to update your page using ctrl-f5

Done that twice and still your photo. Doesn't really matter except it gets confusing when people are commenting on others avatars and I don't know which one they mean!
