Microsoft Office Pro - Word

Can anyone please tell me how, or perhaps why, after using Office/Word for years now it has suddenly started bugging me with a message every time I open a file, any file, telling me that I, that's me, is using this file ( I think that I already know that) and would I like to open a copy ?
It's becoming a real nuiscance. Thanks
