Accused of telling a client at work personal details about other staff
1 Answers
I was working as a relief worker in a drug rehabilitation centre and the manager sent me to liverpool with a mentally ill resident on my own. The manager rang me on the monday and accused me of revealing personal information about the Rehab and also calling another member of staff, the resident which has meant to have said this suffers with mental illness, Paranioa and anxiety. I have never said anything to any resident and then another resident has come forward to reveal that I have also been making hand gestures (as if to masturbate) to him. I have not done any of the things that I have been accusedof and I cant prove that I didnt say or do these things, what can I do to clear my name? I cant believe the manager has took the word of the residents rather than before a member of staff. I would not discuss anything with any of the residents, I am due to attend another job interview but will need to provide references form my ex employer what am I going to do?

If it were me and I got no satisfaction then I would ask for a meeting with his/her boss then at least my side of the problem would be on record. Also, maybe ask for an impartial person to sit in on the meeting(s) so the content is correctly recorded. Above all remain calm and professional at all times.
