being repetitive, is it not clear to the tech team that the positioning of the submit button right next to the title box is causing endless problems.
It should appear below the text box at the very least. I know its been pointed out umpteen times, but it prompts silly responses (yes I have joined in, sorry) and may put the person off then from coming back and giving the whole query. Rant over.

thank you mamya - yet again, and yes, it's causing duplicate posts yet again while people (with best intentions) resubmit with the details filled in.
Hear hear mamya
perhaps a pop up asking if you want to go ahead and post the question?

Mick also a good suggestion, glad others agree it causes a lot of problems.
Yes it's very frustrating and I too have made several suggestions to the AB Ed about this.

But I wonder if there is a reason why the Ed hasn't made what seems an obvious change.

I think some users don't actually get a Question Details box on their screen. Woodelf for one has pointed this problem out. I think it's a problem with certain brwosers or certain devices- eg i-phones.

It would be good if the AB Ed were to give us an update on thsi topic.
Afternoon all,

Do you remember when I said the techies were working on an unrelated project? Well, it seems this is taking longer than expected (as is the way)!

It is the first thing they're working on the site when they put AB squarely back in their sights - that, and some fixes regarding the members pages/profiles.

Sorry for the lack of "updates" - but there isn't much for you all at the moment. I will let you know when we're close to an update, but until then I am not sure what I can offer?

Woodelf is using a technical aide called "Thunder Screenreader" which I have been using recently - trying to understand some of the accessibility this kind of program offers (and how we can help, if possible).

Our testing on the iPhone has show the site seems to work fine (if a little "fiddly") - have you experienced otherwise Factor?

All the best

No Ed, I never use an i phone for accessing AB but some users other than woodelf have said there is no Question Details box, and the problem is so common I wondered whether there wasa technical issue.
If there's not why can't theTechies simply spend a few minutes inserting an instruction next to the Question ibox saying- "don''t press SUBMIT until you've completed the Question Details box". Or why they just make it compulsory to put something in the Question Details box?
Ed....Tell us what is the 'unrelated project' your techies are working on.!!??
Hi Factor and Ron,

"Spending a few minutes" is a little more difficult than we'd like - all I can say is "soon."

It is only a technical issue if you're navigating through the site with the [tab] key - at this point the QDetails box doesn't open. Again we'll try and fix this in the next up-date. But until we get some techie time we'll just have to continue as we are. Sorry about that! I am not sure what else I can do for you!

Ron. Why? It doesn't concern The AnswerBank and isn't really going to make anyone feel better!

That wasn't a rant, more of a whine ;-)
Sorry S.E.for my enquiry. I imagined that AB permanently employed a few Techies who were working on some grand innovation for us and I was curious to know what it was.

Anyway you still need to get the Techies in quickly to sort out a lot of issues.

Best of luck....Ron
Yep, we'll have them back soon!

Sadly sometimes they have to go off and do other things.

Good Lord, they have a life out of AB? Surely not!
