Thanks for your feedback Guys - I'd really like some more though!

A quick clarification, or an answer to "Why?":

*We were looking "scruffy" - we're trying to smarten up a bit. We will eventually have a consistent language throughout the site (we havn't got it quite right yet, but we will).

*We were trying to make it harder for users to enter questions JUST in the title box. This might be something which effects Q&P more than other areas. (We're aware of the "no title" problems)

*We wanted to make some minor changes to the My Profile section of the site - in particular make the "Activate Avatar" link/tickbox into a button. (Avatar activation instructions here: http://www.theanswerb...g/Question888790.html - new ones will be provided in the coming week)

*We wanted to remove a couple of tension points from the profile - namely the "reported/removed" count.

Let us know what you think of all the changes.

We're aware of the IE7 "button" problem. There are two solutions to this - 1. Wait for the techies to fix it 2. upgrade to IE8 (http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/internet

My only gripe is the latest threads panel: I see the black text (time, poster, category) first, rather than the burgundy thread title due to the relative type sizes. Personally I'd prefer it the other way round but that's a personal preference.

You'll go back to the jellymen, red.

Your avatar will remain on gravatar and would be used again if you re-activated your avatar (assuming you had not changed the email address on your profile in the mean time)

Can you hazard a well informed-in-the-loop guess as to when profiles will be linked for users with more than one active ID? I have 4 or 5 dot hawkes and variant ids still having a Q & A back catalogue on AB (though not active in that I could actually sign in with them)

may I profer a simple suggestion to satisfy some many abers frustrations with the current format. In order to contribute we have to scrawl down through many pages, and often give up because frankly its a pain in the 'are so there you are'. Cannot the most recent comments appear first!!!! It would seem to me much more logical.

We've had some discussion about that recently in the smokey back rooms of AB Towers. While you do have this functionality in the "recently answered" tab in each category, we do understand it might make more sense to have this defaulted. We're still mulling it over for the moment.

Couldn't the preferred display order (chronological / reverse chronological) be an option within the user profile?

Whichever way you have it some people will always prefer the opposite, so make it a personal preference; I suspect that people would stick to one ordering rather than continually switching between the two.

Ideally we'd like to keep this as simple as possible.

I'm no longer able to submit a question after filling in the box in the usual way. What am I doing wrong?

like the changes (mostly) much sharper and cleaner. However, my page layout seems all up the Swannee - have a tiny thin white line to ask a question in so have to fiddle around each time to get it the right size - also have a funny pale blue fragmented oblong box in the centre of the screen overlayed with the light coloured surround edging of 'search in answerbank'. Irritating.

Ed, I used to be logged in permantly but now I have to log in every time I close down, I don't log out. Even if I leave the computer on and go away for a few hours when I get back I have to log in again. I prefered it when that didn't happen, I could even get the site up on a different computer and I'd be logged in.
