can I pass on the following suggestions for the benefit of the future of Chatterbank? (copywrite pending of course : ) )
1 stop all new registrations for 3 top 4 weeks
2 delete all duplicate usernames and ask users to voluntarily admit to any duplicates by email and remove them from the database.
3 check all Ip addys of the users that are left , and in the case of any duplications then contact the users by email and if its simply a case of siblings etc in teh same household then fair enough take note , if its not then delete all bar one from that Ip addy.
4 reopen registration , with the stipulation new users in their first week /2 weeks can only post 2 questions per day and a maximum of 10 answers per day.
5 log all ip addys and stop registered ones from adding any other usernames.

noone's that important on AB, you're probably best keeping quiet lol
The vast majority of internet users have dynamic IP addresses. That means that their ISP allocates them a new address every time that they log on. So simply logging off and then on again will change any user's IP address.

Further, anyone with the slightest bit of internet knowledge can divert their traffic via a proxy server. For example, I've just clicked on a few things so that, if anyone checks, my IP address for this post will appear to be 195.168.109.60, indicating that my ISP is in Slovakia!

Chris
well, as you are on most nights I would give you plenipotentiary powers to delete trolls instantly. The official Eds can review them all next morning if they want but it would mean they don't have to work late, which they seem not to be doing anyway.

Is it cold in Slovakia at the moment? It always strikes me as a chilly place.

I always report them immediately I see them jno and often thet do go straight away, it doesn't seem to me that people use the report button as quickly as they could, but what the heck, it was all Leg end's plan anyway lol
How about a button which, when pressed by 10 ABers or more at the same time, activates a big fist that springs out of the screen and punches the offending poster on the snoz?

(This has been suggested before .... but I thought it worthy of another mention).

Evening all. x
I really was in Slovakia 7 weeks ago, Dotty ;-)

It was a lovely sunny day in Bratislava when I went there (just for the day). They've got good weather, great beer, friendly people and some very interesting food. (e.g. "Chicken with peach and cheese" seems to feature on a lot of menus!)
Good evening, Mrs C.
I'm not talking about reporting but about deleting, like 'set phasers to kill'. Somebody might as well have the power to do it on the spot rather than waiting for Wednesday fortnight for the probation reports to be studied.
Question Author
oooo I would like chicken with peach and cheese as they are probably my 3 favourite foods!!! exactly how is the cheese served with the chicken and where do they put the peach?
Evening Chris! x
Who's been causing trouble then?
What have I missed (again!!!)
Always someone has to mess around, but with a memory like mine I can never remember their old username.
Thingy and Whatsisname-popular names with me lol

Some joker messing about again, I'm away for tonight. catch you all tomorrow.
