Why do so many contributors use &Quot instead of inverted commas? Surely they are much easier to use and look better? You don't see newspapers using this form of punctuation.

The Guardian - a national daily newspaper - uses double quote marks in place of single ones.

I believe double quotes is really correct, we have just got lazy over the years. 
Well we have to blame it on someone!

On checking back I have used inverted commas in both questions and answers and they have come out OK. So have others. Does it depend on the sender's editor program perhaps?
