'Bastard' now passes through the filter because someone complained that it is a word which comes up in crosswords. However, when I claimed (as a single word) that Wan King is a village in Northern China, it came out in the Ed's test thread as Auditing; although the filter was supposedly switched off.

I agree, same with w t f.
I mean you have to *know* in order to consider it an obscenity, and if you *know* what the abbreviation means, you're not going to be offended by it.
Furthermore - I believe that the automatic substitution with "For Funk's Sake" and "What The Funicular" just underlines something that would otherwise go un-noticed.

If I do find it necessary to swear in the columns of AB it will be in Welsh.
So start learning them now.

I don't think that follows, AP, just as knowing swearwords doesn't mean you won't be offended by them. I know most of them (I think) but I don't much like reading or hearing them and am happy that AB replaces most of them. People should be able to converse without them. Save them for when you hit a thumb with a hammer.
