Avatars have vanished from my laptop
I made a remark earlier that I could no longer see my own and ChuckFickens avatars. This I now see includes all the members' avatars
I have checked elsewhere and see that it is only on this laptop that it has happened.
How could this have happened and what can I do about it?

If that doesn't help then I'd guess that either some security software or setting is stopping them being shown or you've got something like ad block plus on firefox and have blocked the gravater page accidentally (pretty easy to do as it goes!)
(also can't see any reason why it would have started with mine, I've not changed it for several days)

If you have adblock plus, you'll see a red hexagon with a white border and the legend "ABP" on your toolbar. click the drop-down arrow to the right of it, and choose "Open blockable items".
In the list that appears, any blocked items will be in red. locate one that begins with http: followed by //www.gravata.com, and right-click it, and choose disable filter.

My initial answer said the ABP might be blocking the avatars if you had it installed, if you didn't already have it installed then it couldn't have been that and there was no need to install it for this problem (it doesn't matter, it's a good thing to have installed anyhow.)
as you didn't have ABP installed before it's not that causing your problem with avatars, you may have also blocked the gravatar site in the security settings somehow, the easy way to sort anything like that out is to follow the instructions here to reset firefox back to all default settings, Only select "Reset all user preferences" when given the choice.

ChuckFickens - You said "follow the instructions here to reset Firefox back to all default settings" I couldn't see what instructions you were refering to.
By the way at the same time that the avatar vanished my Snipping Tool has also stopped working.
I have a feeling that having uninstalled Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 (this was in another of my posts) a few days before may have caused the problem I'm having. What do you think?
