Could we have a topic where people can ask question about grammar, and the English language in general.

It could become a place people go when they just fancy a good argument and take some of the heat out of Chatterbank.

Anyone fancy a good punch up over apostrophes?

Without the arguments...it's a good idea.

People don't remember what they've been taught in school. It would be nice to have grammar corrected when asked. Instead of it being corrected in a patronizing way.

...ooops. I missed the 's' off questions, before anyone sticks the boot in.

Line 2 could have done with a comma as well.
That might prove a difficult task where so many are vocabulary challenged, Hopkirk.
I would just like a preview before submit :)
lol @ Hopkirk 'before someone sticks the boot in' !

Let's have a trial on the apostrophe question

St. James Park - Exeter City ground
St. James' Park - Newcastle United ground
St. James's Park - A park in London

They are all correct.

It depends on whether you consider the park is owned by St. James, or just named after him.

I suppose though, you could argue that he cannot own any of them, being as he is not too well these days.

Leave the heat in CB and keep it out of other other sections; please.
