Message Board

Now it's against the rules to post stuff unrelated to the topic heading, how do I get a message to someone to tell them to look at something I've written elsewhere? Chatterbank won't do because the person I want to alert rarely goes there - and the posts move so quickly anyway, he's highly unlikely to spot me amongst it all. A dilemma!! In the absence of PMs, I'm wondering if a separate message board for short personal messages would be helpful?

Sneaking around trying to get a message to someone smacks of passing notes behind the teacher's back - and we're all grown up now, aren't we? We need a proper legitimate facility to enable us to pass messages to each other - but I think it should be restricted to one or two lines - otherwise there's every likelihood that it would turn into another chatterbank. :o)
Ludwig, as far as I understand it, it's now against the rules to put it in a normal thread. Normal threads have to stick to the subject and the topic in hand. As I said, someone had a post removed for simply saying 'hello'. That, apparently, is now only acceptable in Chatterbank.
jno, that would be good, but I don't know if it's planned. Several people have asked.
