What became of receiving an email when a Q of yours got a response?

I remember ages ago every time I posted a thread, if I got a response an email got sent to me. Then all of a sudden it stopped. Sometimes I totally forget about something I posted and only see answers after a week maybe. Were the emails removed for a reason?

its only possible now if you subscribe to a question,

As indicated by redcrx you will only receive an e/mail notification of an answer to a question if, after submitting the question, you then press 'Subscribe'. in the box of which your question appears.
