Book Title and Author.

Years ago I read a fictional book about a family who was spilt up during the Holocost. All i can remember is that both bother and sister ended up in America and they found each other by the bother recognising his mother ring on his sister. I am sorry for being so vauge, but has anyone any idea what the book is called? The title may have some reference to the ring. Thanks in advance.
